Teenager knocked out by garbage in Canterbury

A teenager has been knocked unconscious this morning by falling garbage.

The 17-year-old boy was walking in Palace Street, Canterbury, at the same time people were emptying garbage onto the streets from the flats above.

He was unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a piece of trash, believed to be a heavy metallic object of some sort, hit him straight on the head.

When he came round, his leg was in pain by further heavy garbage that had been thrown out from above so he was taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate.

It is believed that the boy may have to have his leg and head amputated by chainsaw without anesthetic due to NHS budget cuts.
